Aer Lingus status by flight segments

Whilst Aer Lingus do not offer status directly via flight segments, they work out the numbers for you via their four different Fare Types.

Even though Aer Lingus is owned by IAG - the parent company of British Airways and Iberia - it is not part of the Oneworld alliance.

Aer Lingus status only gets you benefits directly on American Airlines and British Airways.  And these benefits are limited to "on the day" - no advance seat selection, even for top tier Aer Lingus members.

Aer Lingus Silver is a bit like Oneworld Ruby - but without seat selection.

Aer Lingus Platinum is a bit like Oneworld Sapphire - but without seat selection.

Aer Lingus Concierge is a bit like Oneworld Emerald - but without seat selection.

I previously looked at how to earn OneWorld status via segments on different airlines.

The headline from that analysis is that you can achieve Oneworld Ruby with 14 segments, Sapphire with 30 segments and Emerald with 46 segments.

Aer Lingus sort of equivalents of 21, 41 and 71 do not sound very attractive.
